Joseph E. Schwartzberg (1928 - 2018): A tenured professor of the University of Minnesota, he was the author of numerous books, more importantly, he primarily contributed, authored and edited "Historical Atlas of South Asia" that extensively covered maps of South Asia, especially the Indian subcontinent throughout its thousands of years of history. I had the honor of exchanging emails with him and with his permission, I have reproduced some of his maps during the Mahabharata era, especially mapping the regions captured during Yudhistra's Rajasuya sacrifice. Mr. Schwartzberg’s maps are not only extensive but are also very detailed and thoroughly researched under funding from the US Federal government. Credits have been identified under each section where these maps have been referenced. Sadly, Mr. Schwartzberg passed away in 2018.
